Cute...but cheap September 2, 2010

Based on the picture here I thought these boots were super cute, and I loved all the straps and buckles and the wedge heel. They look like a stylish and steampunky version of a old-time adventurer's boots, and I thought they'd dress up a pair of jeans really nicely, but with a funky flair, so I ordered them.
When they arrived, I was very surprised to find that in person the boots look much more cheaply made than in the product picture here. The leather is clearly not great quality; it's thin and flimsy and kind of dull.
That first sight was definitely a shock to me, but despite the difference I still thought the boots were pretty cute. I tried them on and they fit great and seemed fairly comfortable, so I decided to keep them. If I had paid full price I might not have, but I bought them on sale, so I could afford to be a little less picky.
I have worn them a number of times and I'm very happy with them. I've found that wearing them for extended periods of standing or walking is a bad idea, because they can get pretty painful (however, I'm not used to wearing heels, and other people might not find them as painful), but they're great for going out to dinner or an even where I'll be sitting most of the night and only walking a few blocks at most.

I bought the jump jail boot in 6.5. I am normally a 6.5 or 7, but since boots generally run larger, I opted for the 6.5. BIG mistake. After not even being able to get my foot in the shoe, I decided to go a full size up. Bought the Jump Stark and Jump Secret boots in 7.5 and fits like a dream.
I would recommend most people go AT LEAST a half size up, and if you have a wide foot like I do, a full size.
Aside from the sizing issue, I adore these boots. I find that a lot of mid-calf boots look awkward with a skirt or shorts, but not these. The fashion designers with this company know what's up. I am tempted to buy more.

I got these boots in and think they look almost as good as they did online. The toes look like cheap nurse shoes especially when worn with long jeans over them. Besides that the straps are great and the grey color is good although I think brown might have been better. They did seem a little tight in the ankle and well they are cute from afar but not up close. Love the rubber heel and they are quite comfy. I am sending them back because even for the price they are just too cheap looking.
